There’s no denying that the skincare industry is saturated with brands, all claiming to be the miracle solution for your skin concerns. With so many products being released daily, it can be hard to keep up, let alone find a brand you truly believe in. We’re big advocates of self-care and are always on the hunt for quality products to share, which is why we’re happy to give you our honest review of Dr. Loretta skincare. We were sent three of Dr. Loretta’s best selling products to test for ourselves and are now sharing our thoughts on the brand, formula and performance of each item.

Who Is Dr. Loretta?

A member of the American Academy of Dermatology with over 40 years of experience, Dr. Loretta saw firsthand the dangers of leaving skin exposed to environmental factors. With thousands of body scans under her belt, she developed her line to directly address what she refers to as the Four Factors that contribute to skin damage, aging and health concerns. The Four Factors are pollution, light, climate and irritants, and each of these play a roll in damaging the skin’s sensitive barrier. The anti-aging skincare line features products to protect against the sun, which is the biggest of the Four Factors that accelerates aging, but it also addresses dullness, texture and enlarged pores.

Dr. Loretta skincare is formulated without the following:

  • Parabens
  • Sulfates
  • Phthalates
  • Artificial dyes, fragrances and mixes
  • Ethyl alcohol
  • Propylene glycol
  • Hydroquinone
  • DEA/TEA/MEA
  • Kojic acid
  • BHA and BHT
  • Triclosan

Anti-Aging Repair Serum retails for $110 at drloretta.com.

If you’re dealing with issues of dullness, sun damage and dark spots, incorporating a Vitamin C serum into your skincare routine can help increase overall brightness while reducing damaged areas and lightening dark spots. Dr. Loretta’s Anti-Aging Repair Serum formula contains 3% Vitamin C and works to increase collagen, which reduces the appearance of fine lines and aids in skin cell turnover that reduces dark spots and discoloration. After using the anti-aging serum, skin is left with a healthy glow without feeling sticky. While testing it out, the serum quickly absorbed into the skin and layered well with sunscreen and other serums like hyaluronic. The serum can be used day and/or night, but be sure to use a generous amount of sunscreen if applied in the morning.

Pros:

  • Absorbs well into skin.
  • Doesn’t pill and can be worn underneath makeup and with other serums.
  • Leaves a healthy glow to skin without being sticky.

Cons:

  • Higher price point.
  • Contains only 3% Vitamin C, which is lower when compared to other formulas.
